Dr Gavriel Schneider

Group CEO

Dr Schneider is an acknowledged subject matter expert on Integrated Risk Management, Safety and Security with extensive, senior level management and leadership experience. He has conducted numerous high-level consulting and advisory projects, as well as two decades of Specialised Security, Safety, and Risk Management experience in over 17 countries. He was the first Recipient of a Doctor of Criminology Degree with a Specialisation in Security Management.

Kate Down

Behavioural Scientist

Kate specialises social and emotional intelligence as well as rational thinking. She has been delivering high value-add people solutions consultancy to individuals and companies for over a decade. Kate works with individuals and teams, through to strategic programs organisation-wide. She also provides private coaching and mentoring for individuals. Her education includes qualifications in psychology, risk management and occupational health and safety. 

Mark Carrick


Mark is one of Australia’s most experienced, counter-terrorism practitioners. He offers more than 20 years of law enforcement experience that includes crisis management and response, general policing, witness protection, close personal protection, crime management, change management, and ultimately counter-terrorism intelligence. Mark holds an MBA from the University of Sydney and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company directors where he delivers guidance and workshops on Crisis Management for board level and senior executives.  

Brett Ferguson


With over 30 years served as a state government Paramedic and in tactical medicine, Brett brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the R2S group.  Brett has been recognised and awarded for National and International, actual and simulation incidents and scenarios, rescue deployments and disaster relief.  Brett is a clinical specialist who is passionate about providing quality medical support into remote and challenging locations and has performed significant numbers of medical interventions over 30 + years.

Christopher Swords

General Manager SRA

Christopher has over 8 years of management, safety and training experience, with extensive training in the mining industry. His skills include Specialist trainer/consultant to individuals and companies focusing on Safety within the workplace, Writing Train the Trainer programs, Design and Development of training manuals and courses as well as Training and induction of new staff.

Denny Wan


Denny Wan has over 17 years experience in the Australian IT security industry, starting as an IT auditor with IBM Global Services. Through this experience, he learnt that audit is not about compliance but is a means to engage people to manage business IT risks. He believes that the best way to build strong team is by re framing their communication process using policy as a common human language void of technical jargons, to create a common vision and consensus in developing technology roadmaps.

Leonie Barnes

Group Operations Director

Leonie provides international development and emergency response advice and consulting services to the United Nations, large international nongovernmental organisations inside and outside of Australia and to companies in Australia in general. She has intimate understanding of the operational processes required to manage all aspects of project management in the emergency and development context; especially in the humanitarian mine action context.

Kandia Du Bruyn

Marketing Manager

Kandia has over a decade of extensive experience in Marketing, Advertising, Digital Media, Business Development and Project Management and holds qualifications in these fields. She is responsible for Digital Media Marketing, New Business Development and Sales, R2S Academy, Event organisation and planning, website development and marketing strategy and implementation.

Matthew Bhimbhai

Director Infront Security

Matthew has over 20 years’ experience in the safety, security and risk management industries. He commenced working in the security industry in 1994 with a number of smaller companies, holding various Operational Management roles. With his highly developed risk management skills, refined conflict resolution management skills, good perception and conceptual thinking skills, Matthew is a highly sought after risk management, safety and security consultant in the industry.

Colin Pecats

General Manager R2S Security

Colin is a security risk and intelligence specialist with exposure across a diverse range of contexts since 2002 at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels in the public, private, and Defence sectors. As a security risk management and intelligence specialist within the Royal Australian Air Force Security Police – Counter-Intelligence unit, he supported senior commanders with security planning, risk management, and intelligence programs.

Joe Saunders


Joe is a passionate risk leader with work history across the security, safety, investigations and training industries in both the private and public sectors. Along with this experience as a risk practitioner, Joe is a recognised expert in aggression and violence management. He holds a Graduate Certificate in the Psychology of Risk and is the national vice chair of the Institute of Strategic Risk Management.

The R2S Team is made up of highly skilled professionals with extensive experience in their specific fields. Catherine is a specialist in strategy development and review, a consultant in workforce planning, development and culture, a successful mentor for CEOs, Boards and high potentials, a high level conflict resolution mediator and a public speaker and author. Catherine has held several leadership and management roles in retail, mining and resources, not for profit and hospitality industries. 

Andrew Smith

Andrew is a businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist and holds a number of advisor to board positions. Andrew has owned and operated a commercial newspaper, international trading desks, PRC (and greater Asian) corporate consultancy. He has extensive experience in strategic structuring of assets and capital transactions. 

Craig Roelofsz

Craig is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer focused on capital raisings, mergers + acquisitions, joint ventures, intellectual property and corporate governance. Craig has significant experience with Australian based companies that invest and operate in Africa as well as African based companies investing and operating in Australia.
